Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations to be held at Gadiraju Palace
The Hare Krishna Movement, Visakhapatnam, which has been at the forefront of promoting Sanatana Dharma, has planned a grand celebration of Sri Krishna Janmashtami on August 18th and 19th at Gadiraju Palace to allow thousands of devotees and people to participate. All of the festivities will be held in accordance with Vrindavan and Mathura traditions. The entire celebration will also be broadcast live on YouTube https://cutt.ly/uXexcki
The following events will take place over the course of two days:
1) Abhishekam: On August 19th, the special Maha Sahasra Kalashabhisheka will be performed according to Vrindavan customs from 9 p.m. to midnight. Apart from regular abhisheka on both the 18th and 19th of August, it includes abhisheka with water from seven holy rivers (Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Kaveri, Sindhu, Narmada, and Saraswathi), Panchamruta (Milk, Honey, Ghee, Curd, Jaggery), and PanchaGavya abhisheka (cow urine, cow milk, cow dung, cow ghee, and cow curd). The Lord will also be offered 21 varieties of flowers and 16 varieties of fruit juices. 11 varieties of Arati's will also be performed. 2) Hari Nama Japa Yagna: This will take place at the Yagna Mantapa set-up, where devotees will chant one crore holy names of the Lord. Everyone who comes can also chant 108 Nama Japa. This is to bring auspiciousness to the city and to world peace.
3) Cultural Programs: During these 2 days well renowned classical singers will perform Sangeetha Seva to the lord. Dwaram Tyagaraj and his students, Dr. Mandapaka Sarada, Chaitanya Brothers, and Haritha Sisters, will also be part of this sangeetha seva.
4) Prasadam Distribution: All the visitors will be given the lord's prasadam after their darshan.
5) Jhulan Seva: Divine cradle seva or Uyyaala seva to the lord is an eye fest. Devotees will be given the opportunity to offer their Munjal Seva or Jhulan Seva on this occasion.
6) Maha Mangal Arati: Various aratis will be offered throughout the day. Special Maha Mangal Arati will be performed at midnight on August 19, the exact time of Sri Krishna's birth in Mathura.
7) Sankirtan: A Devotee will offer sankirtan and devotional dance to the lord. Everyone present there can also participate in the sankirtan and devotional dance.
8) Bhagavad Gita Expo: The entire summary of Bhagavad Gita is displayed in a pictorial presentation. Visitors will be able to learn the Bhagavad Gita by visiting the venue.
