Over the years, Vizag has produced many talented individuals who have made a name for themselves in the entertainment industry. In this article, we will take a look at some of the actors from Vizag who have made it big in the movies.

 


Satyadev: He is one such actor who hails from Vizag. He started out as a supporting actor in Telugu films but has now established himself as a lead actor. Satyadev's journey to stardom began with his short film career, which set him on the path to success. Selected from among the 500 artists who auditioned for a role in the film Jyothi Lakshmi, Satyadev is a versatile actor who has also worked as a virtual design architect for companies like IBM and VMware.

Swathi Reddy: Popularly known as Colours Swathi, is another talented actor from Vizag. She predominantly works in Telugu films, along with Tamil and Malayalam films. Swathi's debut as a lead actress in the Tamil film Subramaniapuram (2008) was well-received by the audience. Her performance in the Telugu film Ashta Chamma (2008) earned her both the Filmfare Award and the Nandi Awards for Best Actress. She is also a skilled dubbing artist and playback singer.

Rashmi Gautam: She is a well-known anchor and actress who appears in Telugu-language films and TV shows. She hosts the Telugu television comedy show Extra Jabardasth. Her journey to the entertainment industry began with a supporting role in the Telugu film Prasthanam. She is working in both Telugu and Tamil films.

Harsha Chemudu: Popularly known as Viva Harsha, started his career as a comedian in a popular YouTube series called Viva. His notable works include Colour Photo, where he played a unique role from the comedy genres he usually plays. Harsha is also the host of the show Tamasha with Harsha on Aha.

Subalekha Sudhakar: An actor and voice actor hailing from Vizag, is known for his television acting in the Telugu and Tamil industries. Sudhakar has more than 100 films to his credit, having started his career with the film Subhalekha, which gave him the screen name Subhaleka Sudhakar.

Raja Abel: He is an actor who was born into a Tamil family in Vizag. He made his acting debut in the 2002 film O Chinadaana and has since acted in more than 30 films. He was part of the 2005 film Anand and Vennela. His last appearance was in the 2016 film Parking.

Raj Tarun: Born in Visakhapatnam, Raj Tarun acted in around 52 short films before making his debut in the 2013 film "Uyyala Jampala." He then went on to feature in movies like "Cinema Choopistha Mava," "Kumari 21F," "Seethamma Andalu Ramayya Sitralu, Orey Bujjiga," and many more.

Sobhita Dhulipala: Sobhita Dhulipala made her debut in Anurag Kashyap's thriller "Raman Raghav 2.0." However, it was her portrayal of Tara Khanna in Amazon Prime Video's original series "Made in Heaven" that shot her to fame. She worked in many notable Telugu films; apart from Tamil films. Her recent works include the hit PS2 and the upcoming PS3.

Rohini: Rohini, who spent most of her childhood in Chennai, was born in the Visakhapatnam district. She made her acting debut in the Telugu film "Yashoda Krishna" when she was just five years old. Rohini has acted in about 130 South Indian films and won a National Award for Special Mention for her performances. She is also a popular dubbing artist and scriptwriter.

Ravi Prakash: Ravi Prakash was born in Vijayawada and grew up in Visakhapatnam. He completed his education in medicine. However, Ravi's love for acting made him attend the Satyanand Acting Institute alongside his friends during his university holidays. He was eventually offered a leading role in the film "Subhavela" (2000). He's already made his mark at Tollywood.
