ISTD is a national-level professional organization that was founded in 1970 and has a large membership of individuals and organizations involved in training and development. It is affiliated to the International Federation of Training and Development Organizations (IFTDO), Geneva, and has over 50 chapters in the country with over 9000 individual members and over 325 institutional members. 

The ISTD Visakhapatnam Chapter is one of the largest in the country, with over 500 HR professionals as members. It has a long history with RINL, which has been very supportive of ISTD in many ways. Shri Atul Bhatt, Chairman and Managing Director of RINL, will serve as ISTD's Advisory Committee Chairman for the period 2022-24.

ISTD Visakhapatnam Chapter Chairman Dr. ORM Rao, Honorary Secretary Dr. Hema Yadavalli, Honorary Treasurer Shri Saraswati Rao, GM(HR)-IR, RINL, Shri Sanjeev Rao, and RINL officials met with RINL CMD Shri Atul Bhatt yesterday to discuss the plan of action for the next two years. They discussed the training programs, HR-related events, and activities that ISTD and RINL would undertake jointly.
