The GVMC was chosen for the German climate programme
The German climate programme chose the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation. The German government, United Nations University, and National Institute of Urban Affairs will collaborate to implement the "transformative climate action using participatory data-driven decision-making platform" (T-CAP) project in Vizag.
This programme is a component of the International Climate Initiative (IKI), which is a key component of the German government's international climate finance commitment.
Visakhapatnam is one of the few cities chosen for this project. According to the GVMC commissioner, the project will bring all stakeholders together and analyse the data required for a policy to deal with various disasters.
