The Indian Navy is successfully conducting the Japan-India Maritime Exercise in Visakhapatnam
The Indian Navy is conducting the sixth edition of the Japan-India Maritime 2022 (JIMEX 22) exercise in Visakhapatnam. The Indian Navy displayed its latest weapons during Phase 1 of JIMEX 22, known as the Sea Phase, which began on September 11. The second phase, known as the Harbor phase, began on Wednesday. The sea phase II of this exercise will take place in the central Bay of Bengal.
This exercise focuses on air, surface, and sub-surface. In addition to maritime patrol aircraft and submarines, the Indian Navy displayed fighter control aircraft for the first time.
These bilateral exercises not only strengthen ties between the two countries but also serve as a learning experience for the two Navies as they observe various procedures and adopt the best ones. In November at Yokosuka, Japan will host the International Fleet Review (IFR), in which Indian naval ships will take part.
