The MLC vote counting begins at Swarna Bharathi Indoor Stadium, but the Final Result will be Delayed

The MLC vote counting begins on Thursday with tight security at the Swarna Bharathi Indoor Stadium in Visakhapatnam, and the process will take more than 12 hours. Even though the counting began on time as per the schedule, the Andhra Pradesh High Court issued an interim order stating that the results, particularly for the North Andhra region, would be subject to its final order.

An advocate, Srinivasa Rao, filed a petition claiming that while MLC elections were held on March 13, no holiday was declared in three districts of North Andhra. As a result, lawyers, petitioners, and court personnel were unable to vote. The high court issued this interim order after hearing the petition. The next hearing in the case will take place in four weeks.

On Monday, nearly 60% of voters, or over two lakh graduates in the North Andhra Graduates constituency, exercised their right to vote in the Andhra Pradesh legislative council elections in the districts of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Anakapalle, Manyam, and Alluri Sitaram Raju. The Visakhapatnam district, with the highest number of voters (1.05 lakh), saw 53.62% of the voter turnout with only 56,670 voters casting their votes, including 31,226 male voters and 25443 female voters.
