Sri Chiruvolu Srikanth, the Police Commissioner, officially launched the Sandhya Marines Vizag Marathon yesterday at Novotel. The marathon's title sponsor is Sandhya Marines Ltd. The medical partner is Seven Hills Hospital, and the hospitality partner is Novotel hotel.

Anand Kondragunta, the Director of Sandhya Marines, M K Bose, the CEO Wing Commander of Seven Hills Hospital, and Novotel representatives Ms. Lakshmi Sridhar and Sri Abhishek Krishna were also in attendance.

Vizag Runners Society, a social enterprise and non-profit organization, aims to raise awareness about the importance of health and fitness and to encourage people to incorporate walking and/or running into their daily lives. The management and members of the society explained to the attendees the categories in which the Vizag Marathon will be held. The marathon will be held on December 18th, 2022, in four categories: half marathon (21.125km), 10km, 5km, and 3km.

They also discussed the 'Couch to 5K training program,' which they started as a free 12-week program that runs up until the main event and even after that to provide guidance and promote injury-free and safe running to all.
