The Tirupati Temple Trust declares that the value of TTD's assets is Rs 2.26 lakh crore
The temple trust of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam declared the assets in a white paper release. The release also stated that surplus funds are invested in scheduled banks and denied all allegations that TTD has decided to invest surplus funds in AP government securities.
The total assets stood at Rs 2.26 lakh crore, with 10.3 tonnes of gold deposits in nationalized banks and Rs 15,938 crore in cash deposits. The temple's assets include 960 properties spread across 7,123 acres. These properties are located throughout India.
The trust disclosed the bank-wise investment, which stated that TTD has 7339 tonnes of gold deposits in 2019 and that approximately 2.9 metric tonnes have been added over the last three years. Fixed deposits in various banks total Rs 13,025 crore in 2019 and were increased by Rs 2900 crore in the last three years. The total amount of fixed deposits is now Rs 15938 crore.
TTD has made it absolutely clear that investments are made in a transparent manner. Since 2019, the current trust board has strengthened its investment guidelines.
