The Visakha Dairy Chairman passed away at the age of 84



Adari Tulasi Rao died at age 84 while being treated for health complications. On Wednesday evening, he breathed his last breath in a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was first elected as chairman in 1986 and has been continuously elected since then. He is the only person to have served as chairman of the Visakha Dairy for a period of 37 years.

 


Since his teenage years, he has been active in politics. He played active roles in the Krushikar party, the Swatantra party, the Janata party, and the Telugu Desam Party. Under his chairmanship, the Visakha Dairy has grown by leaps and bounds, and the turnover has gone from Rs 11 crore to Rs 1400 crore.

Under his leadership, many welfare programmes have been launched for farmers. A Milk Producers' Employees' Education, Health, and Medical Welfare Trust has been set up to benefit the farmers. Other welfare programmes include a school, a junior college, a nursing college, a multi-specialty hospital, drinking water facilities for 1700 villages, agricultural borewells in 1500 villages, and many more.
