In November, India took over the G20 presidency from Indonesia and officially assumed the presidency on December 1, 2022. PM Modi announced that G20 meetings would be held in various cities and that guests would be able to experience India's incredible diversity, traditions, and cultural richness.

A proposal to hold 200 conferences in 56 cities, including Visakhapatnam, has been submitted. Our city of destiny has now been chosen as one of the locations for G20 meetings. Three G20 summit conferences will be held in Vizag on February 3, 4, and April 24. A total of 37 seminars on finance, agriculture, the environment, education, and health will be held during the three conferences.                                                                                                                                                                                                                         
Visakhapatnam will be a part of the prestigious G20 summit, putting the city on the global stage. As several foreign delegates and the Central Ministers will be in Vizag during these conferences, so the district administration has started making the necessary preparations. At the district level, Joint Collector K Viswanathan has been appointed as the nodal officer, and 15 committees have been formed. Reservations were made in star hotels for the delegates' stay.
