Timely Rescue at RK Beach: Mother and Children Saved by Visakhapatnam Police
Visakhapatnam, July 1, 2024 – In the early hours of Monday, a potential tragedy was averted at RK Beach opposite the Novotel Hotel, thanks to the swift actions of the Visakhapatnam City Police.
At around 12:06 AM, P Gowriswera Rao called the emergency number 112, reporting that an unidentified woman was attempting to drown herself and her two children in the sea.
The Visakhapatnam City Police Control Room immediately alerted Night Rounds Officer A Satya Rao of MR Peta Police Station and Night Zone Officer B Tirumala Rao, Inspector of Police, II Town Police Station.
Officer A Satya Rao reached the scene within 10 minutes, at approximately 12:16 AM. He successfully rescued the woman and her children, subsequently handing them over to her elder brother. Officer Rao's prompt intervention was key in preventing the loss of lives.
The coordination efforts were led by Naga Lakshmi of the Police Control Room, who ensured the information was quickly relayed to the appropriate officers, under the supervision of Night In-charge SI M Sekhar Babu. Inspector B Tirumala Rao monitored the situation to ensure a successful resolution.
The Visakhapatnam City Police Commissioner praised the officers for their rapid response and effective teamwork, highlighting their crucial role in saving the lives of the woman and her children.
