Top new OTT releases to binge watch in the first week of May



A hectic work life and this scorching summer heat might have already drained your energy. This May, stay indoors and watch these new OTT releases on your smart tv. With some of the major releases dropping on the OTT platforms, this April end and the first week of May. We have curated some of the best movies and series to watch.

Here’s a list of series and movies releasing across Netflix, Zee5, and other major platforms.

 
1. Jhund 
Written and directed by Nagraj Popatrao Manjule, the film is an inspirational real-life story of the Nagpur-based Vijay Barse. Jhund stars legendary  actor Amitabh Bachchan and Ankush Gedam, Babu Kshatriya, and others in pivotal roles.

2. Stories on the next page 
The film is directed by debutant director Brinda Mitra and produced by Prateek Chakravorty of Pramod Films and Mainak Sen of Deep Films. This film has stellar casts, namely Abhishek Bannerjee, Ditipriya Roy, Namit Das, Bhupendra Jadawat, and Syed Raza.

3. Thar 
The movie is set in the backdrop of the 80s, and the film narrates the story of antique dealer Siddharth. This story also shows another side where a remote village, Pushkar, in Rajasthan, witnesses a series of violent killings. The movie features Anil Kapoor, Harsh Vardhan Kapoor, and Fatima Sana Sheikh.

4. Gangubai Kathiawadi
Critically acclaimed Gangubai Kathiawadi has seen Alia Bhatt receive immense praise. The film portrays the role of real-life Gangubai, who advocated for the rights of sex workers in the 1960s. This film is the latest addition to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s list of movies that portray tragedy, journeys, and larger-than-life stories of people who have impacted society and history.
