During the early hours of April 11, 2024, Palavalasa Sankara Rao, a dedicated constable serving with the Special Protection Force (SPF) of Vizag's City Police, tragically took his own life while on duty at the Dwarka Police station.

Sankara Rao's duties included serving as a security officer at the Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), assigned specifically to guard the bank's currency chest—a responsibility shared among SPF officers who rotate shifts every two hours.

On that fateful morning, Sankara Rao commenced his shift at 5:00 am, only to succumb to his inner turmoil between 5:00 am and 7:00 am. Hailing from Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh, he leaves behind a grieving wife and two young children, aged two and five.
