Two Vizag Women Killed in Melbourne Car Crash During Family Visit



  • The incident occurred at around 9:40 p.m. on September 16 in Point Cook, a south-western suburb of Melbourne.
  • Rama Devi, 67, had travelled from Visakhapatnam to Australia with her husband to visit their son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren.
  • Her daughter-in-law, Neha Bommali, 33, was driving the Toyota Corolla when the collision occurred.
  • Both women died at the scene following the crash.
  • Neha is survived by her husband and two young children.
  • The driver of the Porsche, a 53-year-old man, survived with injuries and is assisting police with their investigation.
  • Victoria Police's Major Collision Investigation Unit is examining CCTV, dashcam footage and other evidence to establish how the collision occurred.
  • Police have not publicly established the cause of the crash or attributed responsibility to either driver.

 

  • The Telugu community in Melbourne is supporting the family and helping with arrangements to bring the bodies back to India for the final rites.
