Union Budget Criticized for Neglecting Unemployment, Inequalities, and Inflation
Experts Demand Implementation of Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act Assurances
At a recent meeting in Visakhapatnam, experts criticized the Union Budget 2024-25 for not addressing critical issues like unemployment, financial inequalities, and inflation.
The discussion, jointly organized by the Institute of Economic and Social Justice and Alluri Sitharama Raju Vignana Kendram, brought together distinguished academics and economists.
The speakers highlighted the budget's shortcomings in meeting the country's urgent economic needs. Among the key voices were former Vice-Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University, V. Bala Mohan Das, and former Vice-Chancellor of Vikram Simhapuri University, R. Sudarshana Rao.
Professors K. Nalini, K. Padma, and V. Ramaswamy also expressed their concerns over the budget's economic policies.
The participants urged the government to honor the commitments made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014. They stressed that fulfilling these promises is essential for the state's development and to alleviate the economic challenges faced by its residents.
