Venkaiah Naidu Urges Public to Engage in Social Service at Prof. Prasanna Kumar's 90th Birthday

Visakhapatnam: Former Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu called on people to actively participate in social service and support those in need. Speaking at the 90th birthday celebrations of Professor A. Prasanna Kumar, former Rector of Andhra University, Naidu emphasized the importance of contributing to society over the duration of one’s life.

Naidu praised Prof. Prasanna Kumar as a remarkable role model, acknowledging his vast contributions as a writer, professor, commentator, and Director of the Centre for Policy Studies. "It is not how long we live, but how we live and serve society that truly matters," he stated.

Mizoram Governor K. Haribabu, also in attendance, highlighted the profound impact of Prof. Prasanna Kumar’s lectures and his leadership in student associations, comparing him to Naidu. He commended Prasanna Kumar's ability to excel in multiple roles as an academic, commentator, and public servant.

Former Chief Secretary LV Subrahmanyam noted Prof. Kumar’s role in elevating Visakhapatnam’s global recognition, while other dignitaries, including former Vice-Chancellor V. Balamohan Das, lauded his literary contributions, including 20 authored books. The event, ‘Navathi Prasannam,’ organized by Visakha Rasagna Vedika, saw many notable personalities honor the professor’s enduring service to society.
