Visakhapatnam district is divided into 3 districts and becomes the smallest in Andhra Pradesh
Visakhapatnam which is the port and industrial city of Andhra Pradesh , will be the smallest part of district, under reconstitution of the districts.
As the Andhra Pradesh Government announced about 13 new districts in the state, the extent of Visakhapatnam district is now reduced to 928 sq.km with two revenue divisions. The newly formed Bheemunipatnam and Visakhapatnam revenue divisions comprised ten mandals and the six Assembly segments of Bheemunipatnam, Vizag East, Vizag North, Vizag West, South and Gajuwaka.
Visakhapatnam district is now divided into three new districts according to the reconstitution of the districts.
The existing Visakhapatnam area will be split into three districts, the Visakhapatnam, Anakapalle [new], and Alluri Sitharama Raju District [new].
The newly formed Alluri Seetharama Raju district consists of just three Assembly segments of Paderu, Araku, and Rampachodavaram, as well as two revenue divisions of Paderu and Rampachodavaram.
The newly formed Anakapalle district consists of Madugula, Devarapalle, Kasimkota, Rambilli, Munagapaka, Atchutapuram, Chodavaram, Pendurthi, Paravada, Sabbavaram, Narisipatnam areas. It will cover an area of 4,412 sq km.
