Visakhapatnam Man Arrested for Defrauding Indians Working Abroad

In a major crackdown, the Visakhapatnam Cyber Crime Police have arrested a man from Malkapuram, Dasari Venkata Raghava Parthasarathy, for orchestrating an extensive cyber fraud scheme targeting Indian nationals working abroad in countries like Cambodia, Myanmar, and Thailand.

Parthasarathy allegedly deceived individuals with promises of high-paying data entry jobs in Southeast Asian countries, only to trap them in illegal online scams upon their arrival.

Authorities revealed that Parthasarathy, who had previously worked as a welder in these countries, later teamed up with Chukka Rajesh, a central figure in the scheme who had been apprehended earlier. Rajesh was responsible for recruiting and sending individuals to fraudulent operations in Cambodia. According to Visakhapatnam Police Commissioner Shankhabrata Bagchi, “Parthasarathy received a commission for each person sent to scam companies in Cambodia. Once in Cambodia, victims were instructed by accomplices Arya and Habib, based in the Philippines, to engage in unlawful activities.”

Parthasarathy was intercepted by the Visakhapatnam Cyber Crime Police at Bhubaneswar Airport on his return from Cambodia, following a look-out circular. He is now in custody and undergoing interrogation as authorities investigate further into the cyber fraud network.
