Visakhapatnam Police Recover Property Worth ₹22 Lakh in August, Arrest 80 Suspects



In August, the Visakhapatnam city police made significant progress in solving property crimes, recovering property valued at ₹22 lakh from 89 detected offences.

Out of 112 cases reported during the month, the police successfully solved 89, leading to the arrest of 80 individuals involved in various criminal activities.

During a press conference held at the 'August Month Recovery Mela' on Tuesday, Police Commissioner Shankabratha Bagchi highlighted the impressive recovery rate, which increased by over 50% compared to July.

Among the detected cases were 10 robberies, two house break-ins during the day, 28 house break-ins at night, four cases of snatching, 16 motorcycle thefts, and four auto-rickshaw thefts.


The remaining 25 cases involved other forms of theft.

In addition to recovering stolen property, the police successfully retrieved 255 stolen mobile phones, further underscoring their efforts to combat crime and improve safety in the city.

The Commissioner praised the police force for their diligence and urged the public to remain vigilant in helping to prevent further offences.
