Visakhapatnam Port Authority Reports 6% Growth in Cargo Handling for First Half of FY 2024-25

Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) recorded a 6% growth in cargo handling during the first half of FY 2024-25, handling 41.79 million metric tons (MMTs) compared to 39.60 MMTs in the same period last year.

This increase is credited to higher volumes of key commodities like crude oil, LPG, coal, and other cargoes.

An official statement highlighted the port’s achievements, including the successful implementation of the National Logistics Portal (Marine), which has streamlined communication between stakeholders such as shipping lines, customs authorities, and the Port Health Officer (PHO), ensuring real-time data exchange and improved transparency.
