Visakhapatnam: Tension erupted at the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited-Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (RINL-VSP) Executive Director’s office in Ukkunagaram on Tuesday as thousands of sacked contract workers laid siege to the facility.
The workers, who were recently terminated by management, expressed their anger by pelting stones at the glass domes of the office building, demanding reinstatement.
The protest highlighted their frustrations with both the plant management and the State and Central governments for the job losses. The executive officials were reportedly trapped inside the office as the situation escalated outside, underscoring the intensity of the demonstration and the workers' determination to be heard.
