Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express Expands Capacity with Additional Coaches
In response to increasing passenger demand, the Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express has been permanently augmented with four additional coaches, effective January 11, 2025.
This enhancement increases the train's capacity from 1,128 to 1,440 passengers, accommodating more travelers between these key cities.
The train now comprises 20 coaches: 18 Chair Cars with a combined capacity of 1,336 passengers and two Executive Class coaches accommodating 104 passengers.
Since its introduction on January 15, 2023, the Vande Bharat Express has consistently operated at over 130% occupancy, reflecting its popularity among commuters.
The South Central Railway General Manager, Arun Kumar Jain, noted that this augmentation is timely, coinciding with the Sankranti festival season, enabling more passengers to travel comfortably to their native places for the celebrations.
Passengers planning to travel on this route are advised to book tickets in advance to take advantage of the increased capacity and enhanced travel experience offered by the Vande Bharat Express.
