Visakhapatnam, 5th May 2025 – In accordance with directives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the city of Visakhapatnam will be actively participating in a nationwide civil defence mock drill on 7th May 2025. This initiative aims to enhance emergency preparedness and public awareness in the event of disasters or security threats.
Citizens are urged to stay calm and fully cooperate during the exercise. Various civil defence protocols will be tested across key locations in the city, including the activation of air raid sirens, civilian training, blackout demonstrations, camouflaging of vital infrastructure, and evacuation route rehearsals.

The drill will also feature the restoration of a direct hotline between the Indian Navy and Civil Defence authorities in Visakhapatnam, promoting stronger inter-agency coordination.
