Visakhapatnam is set to host a Regional Tourism Investors Engagement on January 27, 2025, aiming to position the city as a model in the tourism sector. Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) Managing Director Amrapali Kata has emphasized the importance of developing Visakhapatnam into a role model for tourism.
In a recent review meeting with district officials, various aspects of tourism projects were discussed, including design plans, infrastructure development, and future operations. The focus areas highlighted were adventure tourism, temple tourism, beach tourism, eco-wildlife tourism, medical tourism, boating, yachting, and cruise tourism.
The APTDC MD suggested constructing separate terminals at the port to facilitate cruise tourism and emphasized the need to develop additional beaches along the coastline. Plans are also underway to introduce boating opportunities in Kambala Konda, Gambheeram, and Tatipudi reservoirs, as well as to create special attractions at the zoo park.
The upcoming engagement on January 27 is expected to attract investors and stakeholders, further bolstering Visakhapatnam's tourism infrastructure and offerings.
