Visakhapatnam's IGNOU Students Shines and wins in The Hindu FIC, IPE Quiz



J. Vibhav Vittal and J. Subhav Vittal, students of political science from IGNOU, clinched the top honors at The Hindu FIC, IPE quiz tournament held in the city on Wednesday. The twins displayed their knowledge and emerged victorious, surpassing five other teams from different colleges in the final round.

The runner-up position went to Lakshmi Yasmin and Helsa. K from Vinex Degree College, while Oindrila Bhattacharjee and K.V.S.S.S.P. Chaturya from St. Joseph College for Women secured the third prize.

Consolation prizes were awarded to Ashish Manoj and Alla Chinni Deepthi from Prism Degree and PG College, and A. Prithvi Raj and K. Durga Rao from Mrs. AVN College, along with Sekharmantri Suryadeepak and Adigarla Jayanth from Gayathri Vidhya Parishad, MVP Colony.


The Hindu Future India Club (FIC), in collaboration with the Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), organized the quiz at Alluri Sitaramaraju Vignana Kendram, attracting participation from 28 colleges across Visakhapatnam.

The quiz comprised preliminary and final rounds, with 121 teams participating initially, leading to six teams making it to the finale.

Quizmaster Gautam Bose added a touch of humor to the event, lightening the atmosphere with a question about the famous song 'Jamal Jamaloo.' Chief guest Vishwanjali M. Gaikwad (IFS), passport officer of Visakhapatnam, encouraged students to participate in more contests, emphasizing the value of such experiences in enhancing knowledge and skills.

Y. Ramakrishna, a professor at IPE, shared his childhood memories of participating in quiz competitions, motivating students to actively engage in such contests for personal development. Certificates and trophies were presented to the winning teams, and all participants received certificates of participation.

The quiz will be replicated in Bhubaneshwar and Hyderabad on January 25 and 30.
