Vizag Collector Focuses on Nutrition During Surprise Anganwadi Inspection
Visakhapatnam: District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad conducted an unannounced inspection of an Anganwadi Centre on Tuesday morning, emphasizing the critical role of nutritious food for children and pregnant women.
The visit aimed to evaluate food quality and supply consistency at the local center.
During his inspection, the Collector reviewed attendance records and checked stock levels of essential supplies to ensure the center was meeting the children's needs. He also verified the enrolment and participation of children by examining their name registers.
Taking a hands-on approach, the Collector interacted with the children, playing with them and stressing the importance of a nurturing environment for early childhood development.
In his discussion with the center's management, the Collector addressed key issues related to monthly supplies, Take Home Ration (THR), and the overall food offerings provided to children. He underscored that all supplies must be delivered without defects and called for consistent efforts to guarantee that both children and pregnant women have regular access to nutritious meals.
