The High Court earlier directed the officials to prevent the government land in Sabbavaram from encroachments and illegal constructions. On Thursday, the High Court summoned Visakhapatnam district collector to appear in person for not implementing the orders.
S Chinna Venkateswarlu filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in September alleging encroachment and illegal construction in government land. High Court passed orders after hearing this PIL and ordered Vizag district collector to personally monitor and preotect the land. Even after the HC passed orders, the construction continued.
Now after knowing this, HC summoned Vizag district collector to appear in person for not implementing the orders.
