Vizag Gears Up for Annual Nijarupa Darshan of Lord Sri Varaha Narasimha Swamy
The city of Visakhapatnam is gearing up for the Nijarupa darshan of Lord Sri Varaha Narasimha Swamy, which is set to take place on April 23. This annual event, known as Chandanotsavam, is the only day of the year when devotees can have Nijarupa darshan and is expected to draw in around two lakh devotees from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh.
To ensure the safety and convenience of the devotees, the city police will be deploying nearly 2,300 personnel to handle security and traffic during the event. In addition, around 200 CCTV cameras will be in place as part of the security detail, monitored by the command control center. The temple itself has around 100 CCTVs, and another 100 will be arranged for the event by the police. Drones will also be used for surveillance and security duties in peripheral areas of Simhachalam and the Ghat Road area.
To further ease the flow of devotees, a large number of traffic police will be on duty, and the city police commissioner will be monitoring the forces during Chandanotsavam. The temple management is also making arrangements to ensure devotees' convenience, including queues, roll-out carpets to protect devotees from the hot weather, toilet facilities, and emergency gates in the vicinity of the queues.
For those interested in attending the Nijarupa darshan, tickets are available for purchase both online and at SBI and Union Bank Simhachalam branches. Tickets of Rs. 300, Rs. 1000, and Rs. 1500 are made available. Free-Darshan queues are being arranged, keeping in view the crowd, with emergency exit gates being set up in the lines.
