The Global Investors Summit 2023 has concluded successfully in the City of Destiny, and the Visakhapatnam district administration, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation, and other government departments are now actively working to prepare for the G20 summit meetings, which will take place on March 28 and 29, 2023. Vizag city beautification works have been underway at a cost of more than Rs 100 crore. While some work was completed ahead of the Global Investors Summit, the GVMC expects to finish the remaining work within the next two weeks.                                       

The second meeting of the G20 infrastructure working group (IWG) under India's G20 presidency is scheduled for March 28 and 29 in Visakhapatnam. According to the information, this meeting in Visakhapatnam will include a discussion on various aspects of future-ready urban infrastructure, such as propelling urban economic growth, financing future infrastructure, increasing private financing and participation, and so on. The sessions will also focus on environmentally sustainable and energy-efficient infrastructure, as well as the reduction of social imbalances in cities.

Over 200 delegates from 40 countries, including central government officials, will visit Vizag for the G20 Summit meetings. GVMC commissioner P. Raja Babu stated that "right from mural paintings, road laying, and footpath renovation to new beach stretch development, beach cleaning, and median development, the city beautification works are going on at a rapid pace. The GVMC is developing an 8-kilometer beach stretch with amenities such as toilets, seating benches, parking, CCTV coverage, lighting, and so on.
