Vizag is turning into a hotspot for Tollywood; Here are the details you need to know

Vizag, an adorable coastal city, is known for its scenic beauty, with long sandy beaches, rolling hills, and lush greenery, making it an appealing location for filming. Furthermore, Vizag has a variety of locations that can be used to represent different parts of the country, making it a versatile filming location. The city's beaches and ocean views, for example, can be used for romantic scenes, while its industrial areas and urban landscapes have been used for action sequences. Overall, Vizag's combination of natural beauty, infrastructure, and government support has made it a popular destination for filmmakers not only from Tollywood but also from other industries.

Due to various incentives offered by the state government, Andhra Pradesh has seen an increase in filming, particularly for Telugu movies. The state reduced the fees charged for using government-controlled locations, making it easier for filmmakers to shoot their films in the state. Fees of 15,000 rupees per day were previously levied for locations under the jurisdiction of urban development authorities, municipal corporations, archaeology, museums, school, and colleges. The fee for other locations was 10,000 or 5,000 rupees per day. However, the state government has now converted these fees into a caution deposit, which is reimbursed once the shooting is completed and a certificate is submitted confirming that no damage was done to the facility during the filming.  This change has made it easier for filmmakers to access government-controlled locations and shoot their films without incurring significant costs; as a result, nearly 20% of big-budget film productions are now being shot in the state, with most shootings being done in Vizag.
