Vizag Photographer to Capture 1 Million Women Across 195 Countries
VISAKHAPATNAM: Acclaimed photographer Bharadwaj Dayala has launched an ambitious global project to photograph one million women from all 195 countries. Announced on Friday, the "Million Amazing Women Project" will begin on International Women’s Day 2025, with the goal of celebrating the achievements and diversity of women worldwide
The initiative will document women from all walks of life, ranging from grassroots leaders to influential figures, showcasing their stories of strength and resilience. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Dayala emphasized, “This project is about more than just photographs; it’s about preserving stories of courage and triumph for future generations.”
Dayala, who previously made history as the first Indian to complete a solo motorcycle journey around the world—covering five continents, 47,000 kilometers, and 16 countries—will begin this monumental project from his hometown of Visakhapatnam.
The Million Amazing Women Project will go beyond documentation, featuring a recognition program with weekly, monthly, and annual awards to honor exceptional women. Each portrait will be accompanied by the subject’s personal story and showcased on the project’s website and social media platforms, bringing attention to unsung heroes.
In addition, the initiative will connect participants with international sponsors and non-profit organizations, creating a support network to help amplify women-led initiatives. The project, which will continue through International Women’s Day 2025, aims to create a comprehensive tapestry of women’s experiences and accomplishments, serving as an inspiration for future generations.
