Vizag police busted a high-tech betting ring and discovered transactions worth crores
Vizag City police have arrested nine people who were running a high-tech betting racket from a high-end apartment in Kirlampudi layout. They discovered that over the last three months, transactions totaling crores of rupees were carried out through bank accounts opened with fake addresses.
Kishore, a native of Chhattisgarh, is the main accused. He allegedly paid a bookie Rs 10 lakhs to obtain hosting services for operating this online betting racket. He hired eight people to run this high-tech racket, six of whom are from Chhattisgarh and one each from Odisha and Anakapalle.
According to Police Commissioner Ch. Srikanth, all nine people were arrested, and police recovered and seized four laptops, sixteen mobile phones, a Wi-Fi router, and other equipment from them. Interrogation is being carried out to find the main base.
