Vizag Port Partners with National Technology Centre for Traffic Management Services



The Visakhapatnam Port Authority has sealed a significant deal with the National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts, Chennai, to implement Vessel Traffic Management Systems (VTMS) services.

The Visakhapatnam Port Authority and the National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts (NTCPWC) in Chennai have formally agreed to collaborate on VTMS services.

The agreement was signed by Visakhapatnam Port chairperson M Angamuthu and NTCPWC principal scientist D Kumaran Raju in the port city.


VTMS plays a crucial role in modern maritime transportation, offering comprehensive solutions for monitoring and controlling vessel traffic within port areas," stated Angamuthu in a press release.

Under the terms of the agreement, Visakhapatnam Port will allocate Rs 14 crore over a 10-year period to access VTMS services, enhancing efficiency and safety in maritime operations.
