Vizag students struck in Ukraine seek for help
Nearly 3,000 students from India are struck in four hostels in Oleksiivska and 800 students among them are from AP. The stranded students are in touch with the Indian embassy in Kyiv and looking for a ray of hope. The suspension of flights has been a great disappointment for the students in Ukraine.
Satya Sreeja is a 19-year old girl from Visakhapatnam was now stranded in Ukraine. She is a medical student who hails from Ramapuram village in Pendurthi mandal of Visakhapatnam district.
She is studying first year MBBS in Kharkiv National Medical University in Kharkiv. She is currently taking shelter at a bunker as advised by local authorities as Ukraine was targeted by Russia.
Sreeja also said that they were actually supposed to catch a flight on Thursday. But their flight got cancelled and they were stranded at the airport.
It is known that she went to Ukraine for studies after much delay in NEET and no clarity on exam schedule.
Vaidada Lakshitha, another MBBS student who belongs to Maddilapalem, Vizag has been in a scary scenario. There are no proper signals and the power supply is partial. Not just food, even water is being consumed economically.
With essential supplies getting depleted, shops being closed down, ATM machines running out of money, flights being cancelled, banks being closed and net banking not being functional, the Telugu students express their fear over spending unpredictable days thousands of miles away from home.
