Vizag to Host 14th All India Police Commando Competition 2024
Get ready for the thrill as Visakhapatnam gears up to host the prestigious 14th edition of the All India Police Commando Competition (AIPCC) 2024 at the Greyhounds Centre from January 22 to 30.
Organized by the Andhra Pradesh state police (Greyhounds), this competition is a benchmark for professional excellence among police forces nationwide.
Rajeev Kumar Meena, Additional Director General (Operations) of Greyhounds, highlighted that this event holds special significance as it is the first time the AP police are organizing the AIPCC post the state's bifurcation.
The competition serves the purpose of fostering excellence among state police forces, Union Territory police forces, and central forces, instilling crucial team-building qualities.
In the previous edition, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) claimed victory. This year, 23 top commando teams from state police forces (16 teams) and central armed police forces (7 teams) will compete, commencing on January 22.
The Greyhounds team from AP police, having won the best confidence trophy in the 13th AIPCC-2023 and runner-up trophy in the 6th AIPCC, is set to make a strong impression.
This competition is renowned for its toughness, assessing police commando teams on physical fitness, tactical skills, leadership qualities, mental robustness, and more.
The event will witness Home Minister Taneti Vanitha inaugurating the AIPCC on January 22, with DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy participating as the chief guest at the conclusion ceremony.
