In a commendable achievement, Waltair Railway Division was honored with five 'efficiency shields' during the 68th Railway Week Award ceremony organized by East Coast Railway (ECoR) in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, January 17.

DRM Saurabh Prasad led Team Waltair in receiving the accolades, with the awards spanning various categories. The division secured the prestigious 'Best Clean Station (Major Station Category) Shield' for the year 2023.

Additionally, Waltair Division shared shields with Khurda Road in Electrical, Signal & Telecom, Operating, and Survey & Construction fields, as highlighted in a statement by AK Tripathi, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Waltair Division.

The efficiency shields were presented by Manoj Sharma, General Manager of ECoR, who graced the event as the chief guest.

In his address, Mr. Sharma praised the railway personnel for their unwavering dedication and devotion to duty, leading to Waltair Division achieving the distinction of the highest loading Zone in 2022-23 and marking significant milestones in Indian Railways history.

During the ceremony, merit awards and shields were conferred upon 35 employees, two groups, and three officers of the Zone in recognition of their outstanding performances.

DRM Waltair Saurabh Prasad, along with the respective branch officers, received the shields.

He extended congratulations to all the award winners and applauded the departments that secured the efficiency shields, urging them to maintain the same spirit to attain even greater heights in the future.
