Vizag Zoo to organize special events as part of the World Migratory Bird Day
On the occasion of "World Migratory Bird Day", on 14 May 2022, Indira Gandhi Zoological Park (IGZP), Visakhapatnam, is going to organise special events for bird enthusiasts. The motto behind this event is to provide a new experience for bird lovers in the city.
IGZP authorities are conducting a "Bird Watching" event. Many species of migratory birds will be found around the Visakhapatnam Zoo. Bird expert from WCTRE Sh. Vivek Rathod will explain about the different species of migratory birds to the participants. Bird watching is scheduled from 6 am to 8 am on 14 May 2022. Anyone interested in this bird-watching event can register their names for free. Those who want to photograph and closely look at the various free-ranging migratory birds need to bring their cameras and binoculars.
A special webinar on "birds-migration" will also be organised from 3 pm to 4 pm. Shri. Raja Bandi, IISER, Tirupati and Shri. Uppada Janardhan, Deputy General Manager, Steel Plant & Member - Bird Watchers Association, will create awareness of migratory birds. In this webinar, participants will learn about many interesting facts, like why birds migrate from one place to another and why they migrate at the same time every year.
