Visakhapatnam: The Waltair Division is actively participating in International Level Crossing Week, conducting a series of rallies and campaigns involving Civil Engineering personnel, safety staff, and Civil Defence members across the division.

This week-long initiative began on June 6, with a special observance of International Level Crossing Day on June 9.

This campaign is part of the International Level Crossing Awareness Day (ILCAD), an event organized by the International Union of Railways (UIC) and supported by the global railway community.

The theme for this year’s ILCAD is "vulnerable road users," focusing on raising awareness among agricultural and industrial level-crossing users about safety.

The activities included an awareness rally that commenced from the Divisional Railway Manager's office. Key participants in the rally included Divisional Railway Manager Saurabh Prasad, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infrastructure) Sudhir Kumar Gupta, and Senior Divisional Safety Officer Siddarth Pradhan.

Through these efforts, the Waltair Division aims to enhance safety and reduce accidents at level crossings.
