YSRCP Visakhapatnam district president K.K. Raju and other party leaders raised concerns over the drinking-water shortage in several parts of the city.
The leaders visited areas including Lakshmivanipalem, RH Colony and Masjid area to interact with residents about water supply.
According to the party, several localities are receiving water only once in three days.
The YSRCP alleged that residents in parts of Madhurawada and other affected areas are being forced to depend on private water tankers.
K.K. Raju blamed the State government for inadequate preparedness for the shortage and called for immediate measures to improve supply.
He also raised questions about the management of water resources and alleged irregularities involving tanker services. These are allegations made by the YSRCP and were not independently established in the reports.
The party warned that it would surround the GVMC office on September 21 if the water crisis was not addressed within four days.
The water shortage comes amid reports of rainfall deficit and declining groundwater levels in the Visakhapatnam region.
