Advocating for Fair Opportunity: Addressing TET and DSC Exam Schedule Disparities

Samayam Hemanth Kumar, President of the Andhra Pradesh Unemployed Youth JAC, has urged the state government to introduce a gap between the DSC (District Selection Committee) exam and the TET (Teachers Eligibility Test) examination.

He criticized the current timetable, which allows only a one-day interval between the announcement of TET results and the commencement of the DSC exam.

Kumar stressed the importance of passing the TET exam before applying for the DSC, highlighting the differing syllabi of both examinations. He expressed concern over potential complications if candidates apply for the DSC without knowing their TET results, risking loss of exam fees if they fail to qualify.

Currently, TET applications are being accepted from February 8, with results expected by March 14. However, the government's schedule allows DSC applications to start from February 12, raising uncertainties for candidates.

Addressing job opportunities, Kumar questioned the government's ability to fulfill promises made by CM Jagan regarding DSC positions. Despite earlier commitments of 23,000 DSC positions, the government has reduced this number to 6,100, leaving many unemployed youth disillusioned.

In protest, the state Unemployed Youth JAC organized a Bikshatana program, demanding an increase in job vacancies across various departments. Kumar highlighted significant vacancies, including 26,000 posts in the police department and 15,004 posts in digital libraries within secretariats.

Furthermore, Kumar urged the government to raise the age limit to 47 years in the APPSC and AP DSC. He called upon government officials to cease filing illegal cases against youth advocating for justice and to expedite the process of filling vacant positions in various departments.

In conclusion, Kumar emphasized the urgent need for the government to address disparities in exam schedules, increase job opportunities, and provide clarity and fairness in recruitment processes to alleviate unemployment issues in the state.
