Andhra Pradesh Secures Third Position in India Skills Report-2024, Showcasing Robust Talent Pool



In a significant achievement, Andhra Pradesh has clinched the third position in the India Skills Report-2024, with Haryana and Maharashtra taking the first and second positions, respectively.

This marks an improvement for Andhra Pradesh from its fourth-place standing in the ISR-2023.

The report underscores the state's impressive talent pool across various sectors, including IT, finance, healthcare, automotive, and manufacturing.

Andhra Pradesh excels in key domains such as information technology, computer science, and core engineering disciplines.

The talent pool exhibits a balanced representation across different age groups, emphasizing a dedicated focus on skill development.

The report also highlights the state's diverse skill sets and salary aspirations, making it an attractive prospect for recruiters.

The AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has prioritized skill training, internships, and placements in higher education.


In the BE/BTech talent domain, Maharashtra secured the top spot in the ISR-2024, closely followed by Andhra Pradesh.

The report acknowledges Andhra Pradesh's noteworthy talent pool that readily meets the increasing demand in industries actively adopting AI and tech solutions.

Published by the talent assessment agency Wheebox in collaboration with prominent organizations such as the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Google, and Taggd, the report positions Andhra Pradesh as a leader in information technology, computer science, and various core engineering disciplines.

Aspirations within the workforce in Andhra Pradesh are diverse, with salary expectations ranging from ₹0-2 lakh to above ₹2.6 lakh.

This diversity reflects a wide array of individual goals and skill sets within the talent pool.

Examining the age-wise distribution, Andhra Pradesh demonstrates a balanced representation of employable resources across different age groups, indicating a sustained commitment to skill development and education, especially for individuals in the 18-29 age range.

Prof K Hemachandra Reddy, Chairman of the AP State Council of Higher Education, commended Andhra Pradesh for its impressive performance in the ISR-2024.

He highlighted the state's emergence as a pivotal contributor to India's talent reservoir, emphasizing efforts to hone the skills of employable youth.

Prof Reddy noted that the report also acknowledges the state's talent pool with diverse skill sets and salary aspirations, making it an appealing choice for recruiters.

The APSCHE has prioritized skill training, internships, and placements as integral components of overall higher education, aligning curriculum and courses to achieve these objectives.
