The Department of Applied Mathematics at Andhra University’s College of Science and Technology has begun a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Emerging Applications of Linear Algebra and Differential Equations.” The programme started on September 19 and will continue until September 23, 2026. 

The FDP is designed to enhance the knowledge and research capabilities of faculty members, research scholars and postgraduate students in contemporary developments and interdisciplinary applications of linear algebra and differential equations.

The inaugural session was attended by Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G.P. Raja Sekhar, College of Science and Technology Principal M.V.R. Raju and Y.V.S. Sanyasi Raju, Professor in the Department of Mathematics at IIT Madras. 

According to the organisers, participants will gain exposure to recent advances, emerging applications, computational techniques and research opportunities in the two mathematical fields. The programme includes lectures by academics from leading institutions, technical sessions, interactive discussions and sessions on contemporary research trends. 

M. Vijaya Santhi, Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics, is serving as the convener, with K. Rajendra Prasad, P. Vijaya Laxmi, T. Vinutha and Madhusmita Tripathy as co-conveners.

 

Faculty members, research scholars and participants from different institutions are attending the programme, which brings together experts from academic and research institutions from across the country.
