ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Installs 80-KW Solar Plant at Ghosha Hospital in Visakhapatnam
ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India, in line with its corporate social responsibility commitments, has inaugurated an 80-KW solar plant at Government Victoria Hospital (Gosha Hospital) in Visakhapatnam.
This initiative marks a significant step towards sustainable energy and community support in the region.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the hospital premises, saw District Collector A Mallikarjuna commend the efforts of AMNS India for their thoughtful CSR initiatives.
Accompanied by the Superintendent of Gosha Hospital M Ravindranath and D.S.Varma, Head-HR and Admin of AMNS India Vizag Asset, the event highlighted the company's dedication to making a positive impact on local communities.
The solar plant is designed to generate 8,000 to 9,000 units of electricity per month, contributing to the hospital's energy needs while reducing its carbon footprint.
Additionally, as part of the initiative, AMNS India has provided benches with a seating capacity of 300 for attendants visiting Victoria Hospital, enhancing visitor comfort and convenience.
This installation at Gosha Hospital adds to AMNS India's previous efforts in the region, including a 20-KW solar power system at King George Hospital and support for the construction of a BC welfare hostel at Islampet.
In the span of 2023-2024 alone, the company has contributed a total of 300-KW solar power to Visakhapatnam, showcasing its commitment to sustainable development.
Beyond energy initiatives, AMNS India recently donated 32 advanced traffic motorcycles and a towing vehicle to the city traffic police, furthering their engagement with local authorities to enhance public services and safety.
Overall, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India's installation of the solar plant at Ghosha Hospital underscores its dedication to environmental stewardship and community welfare in Visakhapatnam.
