Aurobindo Pharma Signs MoU with GITAM for Employee Training Program
Visakhapatnam: In a significant move, the renowned pharmaceutical company Aurobindo Pharma Limited has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GITAM (Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management) on a Friday in Visakhapatnam.
The primary objective of this MoU is to provide specialized training to employees from the Vizag cluster of Aurobindo Pharma.
Under the terms of the MoU, GITAM will roll out a customized Management Development Programme (MDP) called 'Auro Astra' exclusively tailored for Aurobindo Pharma employees.
This comprehensive six-month course is designed to equip mid-level managers with essential skills in areas such as strategic planning, leadership, resilience building, and managerial proficiency.
Speaking at the event, Aurobindo Pharma's Vice President, UNB Raju, highlighted the company's extensive global presence, boasting 24 manufacturing and packaging facilities and a workforce of 24,000 employees. Raju further revealed that the company had meticulously identified and selected over 70 mid-level managers from the Vizag cluster across various functions.
The aim is to empower them with personal, interpersonal, and leadership competencies crucial for their roles. Raju also commended GITAM's faculty for their successful execution of the MDP program for senior-level managers in 2022.
The MoU formalities were completed in the presence of prominent figures, including GITAM's Pro Vice-Chancellor Y Goutham Rao and Aurobindo Pharma Limited's Corporate HR Senior Vice President UNB Raju.
Also present were the Dean of GITAM's School of Business, Amith Bhadra, and the Dean of the School of Pharmacy, Jagath Janan Das, among others.
Pro Vice-Chancellor Y Goutham Rao expressed GITAM's eagerness to collaborate with industry partners, emphasizing the institution's commitment to enhancing academic knowledge through close ties with pharmaceutical companies.
This collaboration aims to offer specialized training to meet the specific manpower requirements of these companies.
Following the formalities, Raju had the opportunity to visit various labs, including pharmaceutical research facilities, located on the GITAM campus.
This collaboration between Aurobindo Pharma and GITAM signifies a promising endeavor to foster skill development and strengthen the pharmaceutical industry's workforce in Visakhapatnam.
