Crackdown on Unlicensed Minor Drivers in Vizag: Police Take Action
Visakhapatnam: Taking a strong stance against the growing issue of minors driving without licenses in the city, Police Commissioner Dr. A. Ravi Shankar initiated a targeted operation on Tuesday.
The operation resulted in the apprehension of approximately a hundred underage individuals found behind the wheel without the necessary driving permits.
In an effort to address this concerning trend, the Vizag police organized a special counseling program for approximately 200 young drivers and their parents at the City Police Kalyanamandapam.
During the program, participants were exposed to a compelling PowerPoint presentation that included live videos and images depicting the tragic consequences of accidents involving minors.
The police urged parents to take responsibility for ensuring that their children refrain from driving without obtaining a valid driving license.
The counseling session witnessed the active involvement of Traffic ADCP Srinivasa Rao, ACPs, and traffic inspectors, all committed to instilling a sense of responsibility and safety among the youth and their families.
This initiative aims to create awareness and deter underage driving, ultimately contributing to the safety of the roads in Visakhapatnam.
