DWCRA Women Allege Misappropriation of Products Worth Rs 50L
Visakhapatnam: A group of DWCRA women have accused YSRCP leaders, with the support of former Andhra University Vice-Chancellor PVGD Prasad Reddy, of misappropriating equipment and products worth Rs 50 lakh.
At a media briefing in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, Abhyudaya Grameena DWCRA State Committee leader K. Devaki Devi claimed that despite multiple attempts to address the issue with Prasad Reddy, their concerns were ignored.
She requested the alliance government’s intervention, citing significant financial losses due to this negligence.
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, DWCRA women had secured permission to set up a bazaar at AU grounds, investing Rs 8 lakh in preparations.
However, during the pandemic, miscreants allegedly took their goods from the stalls, causing substantial financial damage.
The DWCRA members have appealed to the TDP-JSP-BJP government to ensure justice and assist in recovering their lost items. Members of the Abhyudaya Grameena DWCRA committee were present at the media conference.
