Empowering Girls in Visakhapatnam: Training in Cutting-Edge Technology



In an empowering initiative led by the Centre of Excellence in Maritime and Shipbuilding (CEMS) alongside the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA), young girls in Visakhapatnam are diving into the realms of software and hardware technology.

As part of this endeavor, a diverse range of courses including inventory controller, courier supervisor, warehouse executive, CNC machine operator, welder, and electricians are being offered. Notably,

25 ambitious girl students recently completed a rigorous 60-day inventory controller course, marking a significant stride in women's empowerment from March 1st to April 30th.


In a heartening ceremony, the Chairperson of the Visakhapatnam Port Authority bestowed certificates upon these 25 talented girls, recognizing their dedication and commitment.

Additionally, students who secured placements were also acknowledged, with words of encouragement urging them to set their sights high and persist in their endeavors.

Highlighting the program's success, the Institution's head revealed that out of the 25 girls, an impressive 17 have already received job offers from esteemed institutions in Hyderabad, a testament to their newfound skills and determination.

The event witnessed the presence of notable figures including VPA Deputy Chairperson Durgesh Kumar Dubey, heads of departments, senior officers, and officials of CEMS, underscoring the collaborative effort driving this initiative forward.
