In a significant effort to enhance traffic control measures and reduce road accidents in Visakhapatnam, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AMNS) India Limited has contributed to the city police fleet by providing 32 traffic motorcycles and a towing vehicle.

The ceremony to mark the addition of these vehicles was graced by the City Commissioner of Police, A Ravi Shankar, along with District Collector A Mallikarjuna, Executive Director of AMNS M Ravindranath, and Head (HR and Admin)-Vizag Asset DS Varma.

Held at RK Beach, the event emphasized the collaborative efforts between the corporate sector and law enforcement to address traffic concerns in the city.

Acknowledging the challenges posed by increasing traffic congestion in Visakhapatnam, Mr. Ravindranath and Mr. Varma commended the city police for their initiatives in managing the situation. The provision of these vehicles aims to alleviate traffic woes and contribute to safer road conditions.

Looking ahead, AMNS India Limited plans to augment this contribution by providing an additional 25 vehicles in the near future.

Additionally, the company intends to enhance road safety measures by installing traffic signboards of various sizes along the route from the AMNS plant to Sheelanagar.

Commissioner of Police Ravi Shankar highlighted the innovative features of the motorcycles, equipped with digital boards to alert traffic violators effectively.

This technological upgrade reflects the commitment of both the public and private sectors to adopt modern solutions for traffic management.

Previously, AMNS has demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by providing solar power facilities to King George Hospital and Victoria Women’s Hospital. Additionally, the construction of a BC Welfare Hostel building at Islampet underscores the company's dedication to community development initiatives.

The collaboration between AMNS India Limited and the Visakhapatnam Police Department signifies a concerted effort towards creating a safer and more efficient urban environment, setting a positive precedent for future partnerships in addressing civic challenges.
