Visakhapatnam: V. Appalanaidu, a 40-year-old ex-serviceman, was brutally murdered by unidentified assailants on Monday night at Sri Krishna Nagar Road, near Jaggu Junction, under the Gajuwaka police station limits.
Reports indicate that two attackers chased Appalanaidu and assaulted him with sharp-edged weapons, inflicting severe injuries to his neck and other parts of his body.
He succumbed to his injuries at the scene, where he was found lying in a pool of blood.
Gajuwaka police, along with senior officials, visited the crime scene. The investigation is ongoing, and further details about the incident and the victim are yet to be determined.
Police sources suggest that a land dispute may have been the motive behind the murder.
