Heavy Rainfall Expected in Andhra Pradesh on May 24 and 25

Visakhapatnam: A low-pressure system is anticipated to form over the southwest Bay of Bengal on Wednesday, May 22.

This system is expected to intensify into a depression by May 24, leading to significant weather changes in the region.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the system will move northeastwards and concentrate into a depression over the central parts of the Bay of Bengal by the morning of May 24.

It is forecasted to continue its northeastward trajectory and intensify further.

This weather pattern is expected to bring heavy rainfall to northern Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. In Andhra Pradesh, residents can expect light to moderate rain on May 24 and 25.

The IMD has also issued a warning for fishermen, advising them to avoid venturing into the central Bay of Bengal from May 23 and the northern Bay of Bengal from May 24 onwards due to likely moderate to rough sea conditions.

Furthermore, conditions are becoming favorable for the southwest monsoon to advance over parts of the southeast Arabian Sea, more areas of the Maldives, Comorin area, and south Bay of Bengal, including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, by Thursday.
